How to Reset in February

You may be feeling low in energy and mood at this time of year and wondering why as the mornings and evenings are slowly getting lighter and there are the signs of spring in the air. Research on seasonal mood patterns shows that late winter is often when circadian rhythms are still recalibrating. Our internal clock can often lag behind increasing daylight, so we can still feel fatigued and emotionally sensitive. Although the light is returning , your nervous system is trying to catch up. Instead of pushing harder, this is a time to gently awaken and be kind to yourself.
If your body still feels like slowing down then listen to it. Have early nights, get under that blanket in an evening. Put time in the diary just for you. Do gentle movements like walking or yoga.
I have started making time to read a book and it feels quite nurturing, I'm having to find time for it but I'm loving the feeling of getting immersed in a different world, which is so good for switching off.
Be kind to yourself and how you are feeling this February!
