In these anxious times we can often retreat and not put ourselves forward. We feel scared, small or think it is easier to just not do something if it doesn't make us feel good. I have been reading Susan Jeffers book 'Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway" and it's got some great tips. One of her quotes is: "The fear will never go away as long as I continue to grow". In other words by taking new risks to make your dream come true you are likely to feel fear. I also love the famous quote: "A ship in a harbour is safe but that is not what ships are built for" by John A. Shedd. If we are not pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone we are not experiencing our true potential. There is nothing more empowering than coming through that fear and realising we can do it and we are ok. Think about when you started out in your career or began a new job, you are likely to have been learning new skills, it may at times have been difficult or you felt anxious or stressed, meeting new people, fitting in, doing a good job etc. Fast forward a few years and you have gained confidence and are able to do things more easily than when you started. Don't put off something new you think you would like to try because it feels uncomfortable, dip your toe in and see where it may take you...
